DAY 1 & 2 : THURSDAY & FRIDAY
US/AMSTERDAM/ MOSHI
DAY 3: SATURDAY (about 6 hours walking)Depart the U.S. late afternoon for Amsterdam. Arrive Amsterdam the following morning. Check-in for connecting flight to Kilimanjaro, arriving in the evening.
Upon arrival, you are met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to the Springlands Hotel in Moshi.

After breakfast you will have the opportunity to hire equipment and ask some last minute questions. The drive from Moshi to the Mount Kilimanjaro National park gate takdes about 50 minutes. The journey passes through the village of Machame, which is located on the lower slopes of the mountain. Once we reach the park gate, climbers are requested to make their final preperations for the climb. Porters will be seen arranging their packs, containing food, water, firewood and other equipment. Make sure that you have all your day pack computers with you as the porters travel very quickly, the guides will be pleased to assist with any additional information. We now leave the park gate and walk through the rain forest on a winding trail to the first uniport hut which is located at an altitude of (3 048m) we continue a short distance until we reach the Machame hut. Here we make camp, rest enjoy our dinner and overnight. We have now reached an altitude of 3 100m. Overnight: Machame Hut Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
DAY 4: SUNDAY

After breakfast we leave the glades of the rain forest and continue on an ascending path, crossing the little valley walking along a steep rocky ridge, covered with heather until the ridge ends. The route now turns west onto a river gorge at 3 658m time for rest, dinner and overnight at the Shira Hut Camp.

DAY 5: MONDAY

From the Shira plateau we continue to the east passing the junction towards the peak of Kibo, as we continue our direction changes to South East towards the Lava Tower we come to the second junction which brings us up to the Arrow Glacier, we ahve now reached an altitude of 4 876m we now continue down to the Barranco Hut at an altitude of 3 680m, here we rest enjoy dinner and overnight.

DAY
6: TUESDAY

After breakfast we leave Barranco and continue on a steep ridge passing the Barranco wall passing through the Karanga Valley and the junction which connects with the Mweka trail. We continue to the Barafu Hut which is located at al altitude of 4 600m. Here we make camp, rest and enjoy dinner. The two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo are to be seen from this position.

DAY 7: WEDNESDAY

Early morning we continue our ascent to Stella Point,5 745m, on our way to the summit, Uhuru Peak at 5 898m. This part of the climb takes about 6 hours. We have now reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the highest point in Africa. Form the summit we how make our descent continuing straight down to the Mweka Hut camp site at 3 100m. This part of the descent takes 5 hours. Later in the evening we enjoy our last dinner on the moutnain and a well earned sleep.

DAY 8: THURSDAY

After breakfast we coninue the descent down to Mweka Park Gate and then drive back to Moshi, where you can enjoy a hot shower and a well earned rest.

Transfer to Arusha. Spend the day at leisure. Visit a village to experience the traditional way of life. (optional)

NGORONGORO CRATER
Leave Moshi after breakfast and travel via Lake Manyara to the Ngornongoro Crater. . The Ngorongoro Crater is a 20km wide volcanic crater with steep walls of 600 metres. Despite the steep walls there is a lot of movement of animals between the crater and the Serengeti. The crater has an extraordinary diversity of wildlife as it has permanent water and pasture.

DAY 12,13
& 14: MONDAY, TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY
SERENGETI
After early morning breakfast leave for the Serengeti plains for full day game drive. This world famous National Park covers some 14 550sq miles. and contains the greatest concentration of plains animals left anywhre in the wold. Picnic lunch. Here is a glimplse of Eastern Africa the way it was before the arrival of the Great White Hunters. The treeless plains abound with thousands of hooved animals, persued by carnivores such as Lions, Hyenas and Cheetahs. We will spend a full day exploring the magnificent vistas of the Serengeti. (Optional Hot Air Balloon Flight).

DAY 15: THURSDAY
LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast you will leave the Serengeti Conservation are for Lake Manyara National Park. Drive towards the greater Rift Wall across the Ardai Plains. Lake Manyara lies in a shallow depression at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. The park is impressive in its variety to habitats - it is home to 40 species of large mammals and has a wonderful variety of birdlife. Spend the day game viewing in this beautiful park, with its dense rain forest, swamps and soda lake. Tree climbing lions can be seen draped across the branches of Acacia trees.

DAY 16: FRIDAY
We leave Lake Manyara to arrive in Arusha in the afternoon. You will have the opportunity to spruce up before boarding your KLM flight to Amsterdam.
